2008 Chardonnel Harvest
What a wonderful day in the vineyard! We harvested the Chardonnel grapes Saturday August 30th with the help of 75 family and friends! We were overwhelmed by the help that showed up that beautiful morning. The harvest was an incredible success with 3772 pounds of grapes picked in only 45 minutes. Eric Seifarth, owner of Crane Creek Vineyards was very pleased with the quantity and quality of our grapes. If you haven't been to his winery yet, you owe it to yourself to take the beautiful drive over to Young Harris Georgia and taste the delicious wines he is creating. We are so proud to be associated with Crane Creek and be a small part in the wines being produced there. Check them out at the link provided on this page.
Thanks to everyone that came out with a helping hand and joyful heart. We couldn't have done it without you.
Now we wait for the the reds to get ready to harvest. We will let you know when they are ready.

Harvest time
Hello to all our Millstone Vineyard Friends,
Well, what a wonderful year it has been for growing grapes! God has blessed us with vines that are overflowing! It is almost time to harvest the whites. Usually, we only know a day or two in advance when we will be harvesting and that might be the case with the reds, but this year we have some advance notice for the white grapes.
We will harvest them on Saturday, August 30th. Be at the vineyard at 8:30 for breakfast and coffee.
One of the reasons for so many grapes this year is the netting to keep the birds from eating them all. Check out the video to see us putting on the nets.
Hope to see at harvest. If you can't make this one, we will be harvesting the reds soon after.

Welcome to our Vineyard
Welcome ! This is the spot for info on what's going on around Millstone Vineyard. Will try and keep every thing up to date on our lives, garden and vineyard. Chris , Laura and I have just got back from a Mission trip with Rock Spring United Methodist Church to Costa Rica. As I told someone it was my second best trip of my life , first best was our honeymoon ! We were able to work on a new church building and do 3 nights of vacation bible school . Every thing about the trip was so special! While we were away the family worked around garden and provided for the chickens and Thom the cat ! Sprayed Vineyard day before we left, jap. bettles are the main problem at this time.
